The Maui Project - Maui, HI

If you’ve been following Wilder, then you know that we typically take a chunk of time off in the winter and leave the cold and rainy PNW. We generally close up shop for a couple months and go live somewhere a little warmer. This past winter (2019) we decided to spend our time on Maui and while we were there we picked up an exterior remodel job.

Terry, (the homeowner) hired us to create an entirely new look for the front of her single level home in Kihei. We started out the project by connecting all of the exterior doors with a beautiful composite deck and boardwalk. Then we surrounded the deck with a modern custom privacy fence to create a cozy space outside of the bedrooms to hang out and enjoy the sunshine.

After we completed the deck and fence, we moved on to the other side of the building. We designed and built a privacy wall with a sliding modern barn door, which turned the carport into lovely private lanai area (or patio if you prefer). We managed to incorporate the same composite lattice panels from the fence into the wall which connected the two spaces together visually.

This project was our first time working outside our home base in Tacoma and it was truly an awesome experience working and living in beautiful place like Maui. The build turned out better than we imagined and our client Terry was stoked on her new outdoor spaces. If you look below we included a before and after photo so you can see the total renovation.
