6th Avenue Renovation Project in Central Tacoma - Tacoma, WA
We wanted to take moment and share our full renovation of our 6th Avenue area duplex unit, as well as some before and after photos we took along the way. We started on this Tacoma remodel by ripping up the old dirty carpet in the living room, bedrooms and hallways, and tearing out the ugly linoleum in the bath and kitchen areas. Once the floors were out, we painted the entire unit with a beautiful soft white to help create a more warm and light filled space. Then we decided on Fresh Oak Lifeproof LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) flooring and installed it seamlessly throughout the whole house. The next step was to replace all of the trim and add new lighting, wall fixtures and door hardware throughout the whole unit. Below is a great before and after photo set of the living room area.
In the kitchen we went with a full gut job, and removed everything from top to bottom. After everything was out, we redesigned the layout of the kitchen and opened it up to allow for better use of the space. The first step was to install the new white shaker cabinets. For counters we decided on a gorgeous white quartz and added in a new under-mount deep bowl stainless steel sink and faucet. The last move in the kitchen was to install the new lighting, fan and all of the appliances. Look below for a couple photos of the kitchen before and after.
The last step in the renovation process was the bathroom remodel. We removed everything in the bathroom, except for the tub which we were able to resurface and reuse in our design. To compliment the existing tub we installed a new shower surround and shower hardware. Then we added in a new modern vanity, sink, faucet and mirror, as well as new modern lighting fixtures. The last step was installing this awesome vinyl flooring and new trim all around. Check out the before and after photos below.
Overall, this was a very fun and affordable project for Wilder. What started out as a dark, dingy old rental was transformed into a bright beautiful unit, and we were able to create that updated modern feel without breaking the bank on high end finishes.
